iPhone Set To Dominate Enterprise
By Jason Gilman
March 6, 2008 Apple announced today that they have licensed Microsoft's ActiveSync technology for the iPhone. This is a significant announcement because it means that the iPhone will be able to fully integrate with Microsoft Exchange, the defacto enterprise email platform. While the iPhone was previously able to synchronize email, calendar data and contacts with Outlook via a PC, the new ActiveSync based capabilities will allow direct communication between an iPhone and the Exchange server. Up until now this kind of direct server to phone connection was only available to Blackberry and Microsoft OS products. Coupling the significant touch based user interface advantages provided by the iPhone with full enterprise level email support looks like a surefire recipe for industry dominance.

It seems you were right about the iPhone, it's dominating everything! I am wondering if I should get one just to stay a part of the human race.

Yeah, I'm actually working on a state of industry intel right now. The iPhone is in the lead for the moment, but technology never rests and everyone is gunning for them.
I love my iPhone. The only thing that comes close is the new Blackberry and the Googlephone stuff.
